I cannot say enough about this book!!! However, for the sake of your reading eyes, I'll keep this as short as possible:Our music team is struggling right now and as a member (not the leader) I have been getting frustrated, discouraged and emotionally drained from all of the negatives I see going on. I found this book online and it has been a God-send. Although I am not the leader, I have gleaned so much from this book: I've highlighted, doggy-eared and written in the margins all over it. I may not be able to change the whole culture from the top down, but I can change myself and make sure I am contributing to the solution and not the problem. This book has given me solid advice, Scripture to stand on and challenges to examine myself and my role in the ministry I feel called to.
I've recommended this book to our leaders and I hope they pick it up and are inspired as much as I have been.
Thank you Austin Ryan for putting your experience on paper, for being direct, approachable in your writing style and honest about your own journey. It has been a blessing to me.

Enjoyed the book.
Has some great points in it.
I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it for all those who lead worship and who
are interesting in drawing others into the life changing presence of God. Austin writes with great focus and clarity.
His vivid and memorable descriptions, honest real life scenarios, and strong impact make this a book you'll
dive into quickly and not let go. My hope is that every new worship leader would count this as part of their development.
It would be very difficult to read this book and not grow from the experience.
This book outlines the premise that EVERYONE on the worship team is a worship leader, and that our primary job as a team is to "Go to God and take others with you" - I love that! Beyond this foundational idea is a wealth of helpful concepts born from years of experience. Leading a group of individuals from all different backgrounds and experience, coupled with the stresses from our daily lives that we walk into every practice/service, is difficult enough. Leading these people to stretch themselves creatively and cohesively as a unified body seems like something that might be beyond anyone's grasp! This book will give you some practical ways to develop a team that seeks to reach people creatively for the glory of God!
This book is fantastic. What is in this book is the Heart of Austin Ryan the author. That is to Worship God in Spirit and Truth. To be excellent with the gifts God has given you. Austin loves the Lord and Loves to help others grow in thier ability to Worship him. I have seen this book in action. Austin met me over 5 years ago and from the first time he met me he treated me like a dear friend. He helped our new church plant develop our worship team and provided the tools and skills needed to do so. I got to experience the Passion Austin has for God and his church and you will see that passion as you turn each page in this book.
How many eye rolls, moments of frustration and creative team members could have been saved if I had this book 15 years ago? Not to mention the heightened impact on the Kingdom that could have happened. As worship team members, we no longer have an excuse to not focus fully on "Going to God and bringing others with us." Use this book as a motivation for you individually to be better and find practical ways to encourage your creative team to be " mo betta.". It was an enjoyable read through a topic that could be considered dull. You will laugh, roll your eyes at attempted jokes and have a new appreciation for the intricacies of the worship team. Don't miss the part where you are called to help others reach success. You might even decide to get involved with your local Worship Catalyst Hub.
I definitely would give this book 10 STARS if that was an option! Austin does an excellent job of tackling what is at the heart of building a dynamic worship team (hint it doesn't have anything to do with music!) He addresses real world scenarios and offers real solutions. There is even a Q&A section at the end of each chapter that would be great for using in a group setting. Since he has "been there/done that" he provides a genuine and transparent perspective to the struggles that worship leaders come up against on a daily basis, no matter how big or small the congregation. The book is an easy read. It's like Austin is just talking to you friend to friend, sharing his life, his wisdom, his stories. If you are looking for something that will provide you with much needed encouragement, real solutions to "sticky" issues, and take your worship team to the next level, then you definitely need to put this book at the top of your list!
The Radical Worship Solution Igniting the Heart of Your Team is a must read for every worship leader who wants to make a difference in the church. As a young pastor starting a new church 25 years ago, I found several books that helped me as a pastor with practical advice to guide my church in its growth. But it seemed to me that worship was often neglected. I did not know of a single book that would help a worship leader to find his or her way through the maze of issues that come up in worship. This book really solves the problem. it is very practical and very insightful. This is clearly the writing of someone who is in the trenches. I love this book and plan to share it with our leadership team.
